“Peepshow”: Phone Sex With Alektra Blue And Asa Akira

Like hearing Elvis Costello on a classic rock station, it's almost steampunk to watch porn stars talk on corded phones. Yet that is what peepshow girls Alektra Blue and Asa Akira have to work with in Wicked's latest movie.

To see Alektra Blue in fishnets is to understand why porn was invented; there is no better example of porny brunettitude than this taut yet ripe miracle of science.

In Brad Armstrong's "Peepshow," she and Asa Akira play peepshow girls opposite voyeurs Dale DaBone and Tommy Gunn.

But it is more complicated than impossibly hot women working for 20s in filthy rooms frequented by men who look like they don't need to go to peepshows. You see, DaBone is an ex-stockbroker who lost everything in the 2008 crash and who has decided to live simply by selling drugs. And he's of that archetype that hangs around at adult locations but who acts as if sex isn't on his mind.

Like porn journalists.

Blue can't understand why DaBone doesn't just jerk off on the glass like all the other guys. He confuses her with his composure in the presence of her otherworldly frame.

"You're so weird," she says. It would be easier if she knew his type, like her lecherous Russian boss, Vlad (Armstrong).

Akira has a similarly unrealistic relationship with Gunn; it's not that two such attractive people wouldn't fuck each other-it's just that they wouldn't do it in a peepshow.

But that doesn't make the movie less fun to watch, especially with the juicy Madison Ivy and the smoking Misty Stone putting in appearances.

Will Blue and DaBone make honest people out of each other (sample dialogue: "Maybe you could be a dentist; I imagine you're good at oral")? We'll see. But it's the clunky peepshow analog phones that really electrified this jaded porn reviewer; if jessica drake were to show up as an HD-DVD salesperson, I'd've plotzed.
