East meets West in Chas Ray Krider's new photo series at Nerve today, which look like outtakes from a Japanese documentary crew's visit to the photographer's Motel Fetish: as Ada Calhoun describes it, "This cultural repackaging shows us the erotic smolder of a specific kind of all-American girl ... the kind who somehow always finds herself in a palm-tree-canopied motel parking lot with a .38 revolver in her perfectly manicured hand." Guns, girls, and palm trees ... when can we check in?
