Jonathan Leder Is Making A Dark, Erotic, Violent, Retro Thriller (We Think)

It seems like it's been forever since we've heard anything from Jacques Magazine or its creator, Jonathan Leder, but as it turns out, that's because Mr. Leder has been hard at work on a film called "American Ecstasy." What's it about? Uh, well, we can't really tell, but the trailer shows that there are guns, nudity, sex, fireworks, bondage, stressed-out eyebrows, sinister vibes, and lots of retro goodness.

Even though we're in the dark on the plot, the movie is clearly gorgeous. No surprises there; we've always thought that Jonathan Leder is equal parts photographer and cinematographer with a sum of sexy brilliance. We're tempted to think of "American Ecstasy" as "Jacques Magazine: The Movie," but that's just silly. Whatever he ends up producing, we're damn excited.
