If you're watching a lesbian film, some tongue may migrate from the pussy, across the perineum, touch the ass, and it's no big deal. In boy-girl scenes, you might happen to see see a guy go face-first into a big ol' booty, especially if anal sex is on the menu. However, if you're watching a scene in which man receives oral pleasure on his anus, it is extremely likely that it mentions ass-munching on the cover of the DVD. This means that, in heterosexual porn, anilingus for men is more marginalized than it is for women. So what's with the stigma?

Osculum Infame

It's been a while since we've gotten all historical and weird with these encyclopedia posts, but the useless trivia is back. You ready? Here it is.

Anilingus: it's apparently something that witches do!

Throughout the years of witch hunting and fear of devil worship, something called "osculum infame"--the kiss of shame--keeps popping up. Why Can't Dudes Like Butt Play?

We're not saying the straight guy stigma about anal stimulation has something to do with devil worship. That would be a fun thesis if we could support it, but we can't, and the whole Osculum Infame thing was a weird tangent. Actually, the taboo is dumber than that: some guys perceive posterior pleasure as gay.

Do we really need to explain why? Can we even do that? (Can we do that without getting into ancient history?)
