The Basilisk Likes To Lick

Some legends characterize the dreaded basilisk as a venomous serpent whose stare can turn its victims to stone, but modern interpretations cast the beast as a beautiful young woman who paralyzes her prey with a combination of eye contact and delicate tongue lashings. Let's face it, the modern folks are probably right; the old bestiary authors probably confused lesbians for lizards.
