Quick Reminder: People Were Banging Like Crazy In The 18th Century

TV/MOVIES

[jwplayer id="7188847"]

It might seem like an obvious point to make, given that all the sex from the 18th century helped create the 19th century, and so on, but we're mostly talking about literature here. Whenever you read about intense and forbidden love that caused two people to leave their old lives behind, you can assume that some crazy-good sex was part of the equation.

Such is the case in "Manon Lescaut," an adaptation of the novel by the same name written in 1731. It's about the Chevalier Des Grieux, a wealthy nobleman who forfeits his inheritance when he runs away with his lover, Manon Lescaut (played here by Celine Perreau). They flee to Paris and later to New Orleans and they hump the whole dang time. That's what those times were about! Remember, the seed drill was invented around then, and that's one of the sexiest inventions of all time.
