Just The Pics: Photography By Kurt Hernon

With their wide angles, hard directional lighting, and a sensibility that involves edgy babes in tawdry surroundings, Kurt Hernon's photographs bear more than a passing resermblance to those of Bob Coulter; the setups may not be quite as technically complicated, but the models, poses and resulting tableaus still have a gritty charm of their own. But Hernon makes to claims to being an artiste anyway: he describes himself as "just an old rockroller who picked up a camera and found out that it loved me". Good thing we get to check out the results of that love affair ourselves: with all those stockings, corsets, and cheap polyester bedspreads to ogle, what's not to love?
