The BBC has really been blessing us with nudity lately--specifically nudity drawn from old novels and turned into multi-chapter TV movies--and we feel like we owe them a fruit basket or something. "Parade's End" brought a lovely bunch of body parts from the '20s, and now "Room at the Top" gives us a collection of sexy scenes from the '50s (featuring Jenna-Louise Coleman from "Doctor Who")!
And Maxine Peake from the original "Shameless" is naked, too! And our hero, Matthew McNulty, comes from "Misfits"! It's a party and every sexy British TV star is invited. The story itself is a grand tale of social aspirations and selfish lovers: Joe Lampton (McNulty) is a POW who returns to England and finds a place in a posh part of town, thereby enabling him to rub elbows--and other important body parts--with the wealthy business class. He woos the only daughter of a rich businessman (Coleman), starts an illicit affair with an older married woman (Peake), and things go pretty much as expected.
