Mother Knows Best: “Against Her [And Maybe Our] Will 2”

Forced sex is verboten in real life, but in porn it only becomes ethically problematic if it involves ugly dudes. The Sappho Series circumvents this dilemma by releasing the Girls-Only "Against Her Will 2."

Rape fantasies are common across the sexual spectrum and porn allows for that dark matter to be explored safely and (more or less) artfully. But this movie is not about that, despite what the title suggests. Instead this overwrought tale of a woman coming to terms with her own late mother's lesbian BDSM dalliances (I think that's what it's about) justifies "Against Her Will" in a far, far looser fashion.

"Loose" meaning that women are tied up and handcuffed, but they are doing so willingly.

"She was a stunning beauty. Wanting. Hungry. Terrified," intones the narratrix of her mother, here played by Sheridan Love, sleepwalking through a Girls-Only "Eyes Wide Shut" house populated by Shyla Jennings, Sinn Sage, Kirsten Price, Krissy Lynn, Jenna J. Ross, Jodi Taylor, Ariella Ferrera, and Jessica Bangkok.

Written and directed by Kay Brandt, "Against Her Will 2" opens with a voiceover I felt compelled to transcribe:

She was here five years ago, or whenever it was. The secret life she lived without my father. She came here willingly. Searching for something I'm now forced to find. Walking in her footsteps on some strange unexpected journey. I wish I felt what she felt. I wish I knew what she was after.. But I wonder if I'm just hoping. Hoping that Mother Knows Best, even after death.

I, too, wish I felt what she felt. Or understood what she was talking about. Ten years writing about porn and I am no closer to understanding leaden BDSM dramas.

I am not saying that Maxie's journey isn't a sexy one, but there is a feeling of glumness that pervades this movie. All the BDSM participants I know are quite jolly.

You know, most people are kind of grossed out by the thought of their parents fucking, preferring to remember them by treasured recipes, jewelry, and restoring their old Mustangs.

But porn again reminds us that the human experience is all about connection, even if it is your dead mom's lesbo sex parties.
