A Field Guide To Adrianna Luna

Last week we spent some informative time with Maddy O'Reilly, but we're still on a mission to learn all we can about babes nominated for XBIZ's Best New Starlet. This time we're checking out a gal who already secured that title from Nightmoves: Adrianna Luna!

Adrianna Luna was born around 1984 in Los Angeles, California. She says that she was somewhat of a tomboy as a kid, but even though she loved playing sports, running around, and getting dirty outside, she was rather shy overall.

Before Adrianna entered the adult industry, she was "stuck in a corporate career [she] wasn't passionate about and was looking to make a change." One of her friends suggested trying porn, and after Adrianna realized her friend wasn't joking, she gave it a shot. She got the phone number of Roxy at Metro Talent Management and went in for an interview thinking that she could arrange some tasteful nude modeling and earn a little money on the side. Roxy asked if she'd be willing to do actual porn--genitals touching genitals and stuff--and Adrianna's first response was "Oh. Oh, no. No way."

Adrianna discusses her cautious entry into porn in a fascinating interview with The Rumpus, and at the risk of reprinting too much of it, we urge you to read about her moral conflict ("That's just something so private, I just don't think I could do it"), the porn she watched before her first shoot ("This girl was getting fish hooked, in her mouth, and they were pounding her from the back and she was all sweaty. It just looked like a mess"), and her pleasant introduction to a studio full of naked bodies ("Everyone has their job and everyone makes you feel really comfortable. I was surprised how quickly I was just OK walking around naked my first day"). She performed her first fuck scene in March of 2011, and it was with Danny Mountain for New Sensations; unfortunately, we can't find any record of those two working together on IAFD, so we can't push you towards it.

Then again, Adrianna has also written that her first experience on a porn set was that same month at Penthouse, so we're not sure what to believe. It's not like first times matter that much, right?

We're more interested in everything that's come after and continues to evolve. This past year has brought her some great accolades; besides winning Best New Starlet from Nightmoves, Adrianna was named DanniGirl of October and Penthouse Pet of November! Not bad for a gal who's only been at it for a year and a half.

But, as with any career, many trials have come Adrianna's way, and she often wonders about her longevity in the industry. For one, it's unusual to start in one's late twenties like she did, and even though her work has been steady and rewarding, she doesn't know how long it will last--and that's assuming she doesn't tire of the game before it tires of her. In that same interview with The Rumpus, Adrianna mentions being a tad discomforted by anyone who wants her to use her high-pitched voice to sound like a little girl, but it's not unbearable for her. There are times that test her though, such as when she got into a fight with her boyfriend before her first blowbang:

He said, How much are they paying you to do it and it's not worth it, for all these people. It was the first time I actually said, Do I not respect myself? Am I degrading myself? What am I doing? I remember driving to set and I was talking to him and started crying. I thought, What am I doing, why do I think it's a joke, why do I think it's funny. He said, No, don't cry. That's not what I'm trying to tell you. It's not bad. It's great that you're having fun with it, but he said I think you need to think about things more seriously.

And after that–honestly, I don't know where this is going to go. I'm having fun with it at the moment. I'm in a phase in my life where I'm just trying to figure things out and this is something temporary that I picked up along the way. That was the intention of it when I got started in it and that's still how I see it. I'm having a lot of fun with it and I enjoy it, but I don't see it as something that's going to be a part of me forever.

Do you think Adrianna knows we love her for her honesty?

No survey of Adrianna's life would be complete without mention of her athletic prowess. She's been practicing Muay Thai for about seven years and her current fight record is 3-1. She transitioned to Mixed Martial Arts fighting last year because her coach said there are more opportunities for growth for women in MMA, but she's also become absolutely obsessed with Crossfit because it's put her in great shape and, as she plainly puts it, "I don't have to worry about getting all bruised up or breaking my nose!" For real though, look at her Tumblr: a third of it is naked pictures and the rest contains videos of her working out and pictures of her spectacular abs.

We have to admit that while writing this post, we developed a bit of a crush on Adrianna Luna. She's such a complex and thoughtful lady, and we feel that she gives as much to the porn industry as she gets. Even if she moves on from smut and becomes a professional MMA fighter, we'll still take deep pleasure in watching her work that amazing body.

Then again, we don't know if we could stand the sight of her being punched. That might be a dealbreaker.
