A Field Guide To Chrissy Teigen

Chrissy Teigen isn't afraid to show off her body, and as her recent interview with Cosmo showed, she's not afraid to dish about her sex life, either. How'd this lady get to be so awesome?

Christine "Chrissy" Teigen was born November 30, 1985, in Delta, Utah. In her early years, her family moved around a good deal, living in Hawaii, Idaho, and Seattle, WA, before finally settling in Huntington Beach, CA, when Teigen was a teenager. It was California that kicked off Chrissy's modeling career: while working in a surf shop, she was discovered by a photographer (cliche but true!).

Despite her storybook entry into the world of modeling, it actually took a while for Teigen to truly believe she could could make a career out of posing in front of the camera. "Modeling had never crossed my mind," she told reporters. "For someone as insecure as I was, it didn't seem possible." To everyone else, however, it totally, completely did. Some of Teigen's early career highlights included a 2004 stint as an IGN babe and getting featured on the cover of Maxim's 2007 calendar--though her big break really came in 2010, when she was featured in the 2010 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue alongside hotties like Nina Agdal and Lily Aldridge.

We've often wondered where Sports Illustrated finds the ladies who grace its glorious swimsuit issue. And though we're sure many of them come to the magazine through modeling agencies and other standard channels, we're sort thrilled to discover that Teigen came to Sports Illustrated through her friend and fellow hottie Brooklyn Decker. It was Decker who introduced Teigen to the team at Sports Illustrated--who, not surprisingly, quickly saw Teigen's potential. We were already grateful to Brooklyn Decker for all the sexiness that she's personally unleashed in the world; apparently we'll have to start thanking her for Chrissy Teigen's 2010 (and 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014) Sports Illustrated spreads as well.

Of course, the true beauty of Chrissy Teigen is that her sexiness isn't limited to professional shoots: we're happy to report that it's all over her social media accounts like Twitter and Instagram, too. Sometimes a little too much (at least according to the suits at Instagram, anyway). As Vegas Magazine recounts:

Teigen found herself in a bit of hot water last March when she posted on Instagram (and quickly removed) a photo of herself getting a spray tan in the nude. "It was embarrassing," she says with a burst of giggles. "My mother took that picture, and I didn't realize it would be such a big deal. I got 13,000 more followers right away after that! I think they thought, Oh yeah, I am going to follow this chick, but then found they were signing on to something else entirely. Now they get dog photos."

Well, dog photos and cleavage shots and the occasional racy selfie. And on her Twitter account, sometimes even more than that--while on set for the video shoot for husband John Legend's "All of Me" she was gracious enough to tweet a shot of her nipples (which, we should note, did not make it into the final video).

But does her online sexy life translate into a wonderful offline sex life? Many of us would assume that a woman with such a steamy internet life probably has a whole lot of hot and heavy going down in the bedroom too--and in the case of Chrissy Teigen, it would appear that we would be right. In the latest issue of Cosmo, Teigen dishes about her marriage...and doesn't show away from talking about the naughty side, neither. As she told the magazine, "We're by no means freaky-deaky, but let's just say, we're open to things...We're very okay with PDA. When we go to a restaurant, he loves when I wear a dress, so he can do some upper-thigh rubbing." (As for the craziest place this couple has ever had sex? "We were on our way to Thailand to see my parents, flying commercial first-class.... We were under a blanket. We weren't even in one of those pod things. I feel like we should get a trophy for that." Clearly Chrissy and John have a different definition of "freaky-deaky" than some of us do.)

With all this talk of naughty Instagraming and swimsuit issues and airplane sex, we may have given you the idea that Chrissy Teigen is thinks of nothing but sex, beaches, and nudity (and maybe her dog, too). While we'd love her all the same if that were the case, we'd be remiss if we didn't touch on her many other facets. For instance: did you know she has a food blog? Or that she designed a capsule collection with swimwear designer DiNeila Brazil? Or that she's shot numerous specials for the Food Channel? It's all true, friends. Chrissy Teigen is a woman with many talents who still likes to show the world her boobs. Is it any wonder we're so crushed out on her?
