Heading out on a first date tonight? Or second, third, or fourth date, even? Bad news, you're not going to get lucky.
According to a study published by The Daily Mail Online (link below), the average woman is now waiting five dates before she'll sleep with a guy. No word yet on anything other than male/female hookups.
During these dates they will tick off of a mental ten-point checklist which involves soul-searching questions such as: Is he trustworthy? Do we click? Can he make me laugh? And a woman will expect 12 text conversations, five long phone chats and ideally a bunch of flowers before considering taking things further.
Heavens to Betsy, this is worse than applying for a job.
At Fleshbot we've long espoused that sex on the first date is perfectly fine, but here's the rest of the Daily Mail's checklist criteria.
1. Is he trustworthy?
2. Do we click?
3. Can he make me laugh?
4. Will he stick around afterwards?
5. Is he a gentleman?
6. Will he like my body?
7. Do I feel confident and comfortable with him?
8. Will it be awkward afterwards?
9. Does he want to get intimate too quickly?
10. Will he get too clingy?
In addition to the list of questions every woman asks herself before having sex with a guy, there's also a strict list of turn-offs you'll want to avoid as well. Mostly common sense stuff here.
1. Body odour
2. No chemistry
3. Looking at other women
4. Being rude to bar or restaurant staff
5. Not seeming interested in conversation
6. Selfish talker or poor listener
7. Talking about exes
8. Awkward silences
9. Texting during a date
10. Seeming needy
Jeez, next thing you know, unemployed and living at home are going to be considered turn-offs as well.
