Apple's ad campaigns are legends in the advertising world. From their 1984 Super Bowl commercial to "The Crazy Ones," the company has long been on the cutting edge.

Lately, however, there's been something lacking in their ads. Whether they're just recycling a Robin Williams' speech from Dead Poets Society or using a song by The Pixies that is about a white woman gazing upon a large black cock, something seems off. Wait a minute, did I just say what I think I said?

Apple's new ad campaign, ironically titled "Powerful," features the song "Gigantic" by The Pixies, which songwriter and bassist Kim Deal said was inspired by the 1986 film Crimes of the Heart, and more specifically, the story thread wherein Sissy Spacek's character falls in love with a black teenager.

Sure, it's got a great hook, it's infectious as hell, and it's always great to hear The Pixies on prime time television, but did anyone at Apple look at the lyrics to this song?

"Lovely legs they are
What a big black mess
What a hunk of love
Walk her every day into a shady place
He's like the dark, but I'd want him

Hey Paul, Hey Paul, Hey Paul, let's have a ball

Gigantic, gigantic, gigantic
A big big love

Gigantic, gigantic, gigantic
A big big love"

Score one for The Pixies for even licensing the song in the first place. Well played Black Francis and company, well played.
