“Reign” Star Has Problems Simulating Sex On Series

Rebecca Rosenberg from The Wrap (link below) recently sat down with Torrance Coombs, star of the new CW series Reign, to chat about his experience working on the show.

Aside from having one of the funniest names since Benedict Cumberbatch, Coombs said that his biggest challenge on the show is simulating sex.

What happens is you're kind of getting into it and you're having sex and they're like, "oh no, no, no, no, this is network TV, no thrusting motion." So it's weird, so we can decapitate that guy and blood spurts everywhere, but if I have a thrusting motion, that's a no-no. It's weird trying to have sex with somebody and not thrust.

Man, acting, am I right? He seems to be a good sport about the whole thing, but his prior experience on Showtime's The Tudors certainly gave him free reign to thrust to his heart's content, and now he has to "reign" in those impulses so to speak. Okay, I'll stop now. Check out the full interview.
