Janeane Garofalo Rants About Pubes

"80% of women under the age of thirty-five... have no thatch on their maidenhead."

Comedian Janeane Garofalo addressed a growing concern of hers, or in actuality, a not growing concern, which is that many women feel the need to get rid of their pubic hair.

During her set at The UCB Theater for part of the "A Night at Whiplash" special, which is available to purchase for $5, Garofalo went on a tangent about this issue.

"It's a biological imperative. You need it. You need it. It's like eyebrows, but different. If you didn't have eyebrows, you'd have conjunctivitis 24/7, 365, yes? Extrapolate from there."

I have an opinion on this, and it's very much in line with Ms. Garofalo's, but I'm certainly not about to shame anyone for making a choice about their own body. Ladies, we love you just the way you are, and please don't feel that you need to shave just for your men (or your ladies). And if they do put ultimatums like this on you, it's probably not a healthy relationship to begin with. In other words, ladies, if you want to shave, do it, but do it because you want to do it.
