Our neighbors to the north are having their fair share of issues with sex education programs, and they've decided to do the only thing they can to help. Raise money by getting nude.
According to Market Wired (link below), the Sexual Health Network of Quebec is hosting a naked fashion show this Thursday, June 26, to "show the natural beauty of real men and women who have volunteered to appear nude to help raise funds for Sexual Education in Quebec high schools."
"We need to start a real conversation about the importance of sex ed, which should incorporate critical topics like consent, readiness, body image, self-esteem and other pressing issues beyond the basic fear-based tactics of STI's and unwanted pregnancy," says SHNQ President and CJAD radio host Dr. Laurie Betito. 100% of the proceeds from Stripped will go toward free sexual health programs taught by professional sexual health educators, at no cost to the schools.
Wait, so we can ogle naked people and it's for a good cause? How soon can I get a passport?
Stripped: a Naked Fashion Show Fundraiser will take place at Galerie 203 located at 227 Notre-Dame O. in Montreal, and will include an open bar, hors-d'oeuvres, gift bags from the sponsors, an art exhibit and a fabulous show that is sure to be memorable. Open bar, tits and wangs, raising awareness, this has ticked off at least three boxes on my to-do list.
