Jessica Simpson Hides From Paparazzi, But Not Instagram

Jessica Simpson is known for many things, well, two things. One thing she has not been known for until now, however, has been her sense of irony. It is razor sharp. For instance, she recently posted this picture of herself ducking down in her car to hide from the paparazzi who were trying to photograph her.  

The photo in question was found on her Instagram feed (link below) and is an arty and reclining look at the super-sexy, and now we have to add super-ironic, beauty. She's slouched, with her breasts heaving out from the top of her dress, which is hiked up to her hips giving us a lot of leg to contemplate. 

What is she trying to say with this pose? Academics wil be pondering that for year and years to come (coming for years and years, too, so it's not a bad time to think about a career change to academic). I'm now compelled to look back over the body of Jessica's work to parse it for post-modernisms. 

Her Daisy Duke is an homage to kitsch, while that burger commercial she made a few years ago was likely a statement about Americans' eating habits. If my post-grad professors looked like Jessica I'd never have graduated, not that I ever did.
