Remember that god damned Gotye video you just couldn't get the hell away from 2 years ago? Well, the best thing about that video was the work by artist Emma Hack, whose name betrays her incredible talent.
Apparently Ms. Hack has made a career out of painting up naked women so they blend into elaborately designed backgrounds. The Daily Mail (link below) recently profiled the prolific Australian artist ahead of her first live art event in the UK.
The 41-year-old will spend up to 15-hours illustrating the nude's skin to make her blend into the background of an artwork.
Emma who will be creating the live installation at the gallery on the preview day says that she is not nervous to be doing her work in front of an audience but she is worried about becoming distracted.
'I don't find it daunting, but it is exhausting and time-consuming, also chatting to viewers distracts me so I do plan to create as much as possible prior to the public viewing.'
This is art. Sticking a crucifix in a cup of urine is just attention seeking behavior, but this... this takes talent. Ms. Hack, we salute you! You're doing god's work.
