Twenty Questions with Elegant Angel Performer/Director Tori Black

The only two-time AVN Female Performer of the Year Tori Black is now an exclusive director with Elegant Angel, along with her husband MimeFreak. As a performer, Black won those two awards along with seven other awards including Best Tease Performance and Best Threeway Sex Scene in Elegant Angel's "Tori Black Is Pretty Filthy" directed by Mason. This is a woman who knows what's sexy and her erotic vision can be seen in Alina Li's Elegant Girl of the Month scene for June on ElegantAngel.com. Here are her answer to Twenty Questions.

1) What kind of girl were you back in high school? Who did you hang out with/date?

I was a handful in highschool, haha. I didn’t have any concept of boundaries or authority, so that negated a lot of circles who were either afraid to hang out with me or looked down on me. I was unafraid to be my own person. I dated a variety of guys, rednecks, loners, partiers and ladies men. I didn’t discriminate.

2) Were you a porn fan before you got into the industry?

Who were your favorite porn stars/favorite porn movies? I watched a few I could get my hands on, mainly softcore on TV. I didn’t really have girls I was a “fan” of so to speak, however I had watched a few Eva Angelina movies!

3) What do you think shaped you into the director that you are today?

Being a sexual woman. My fantasies are just as vivid and real as those you already see depicted in movies.

4) What do you think will make your work stand apart from other directors?

I am, and always have been, a force of my own. I don’t follow crowds and I’m not afraid of the truth. The trends have been drifting too far away from reality… I just want to bring us back to life.

5) Who is your favorite male performer/female performer to work with and why?

This is probably the most common question I get… It’s so hard to chose favorites because my favorite was the variety! The ability to see a new, non-biased, face every day was my favorite part of the job. These people had no idea what mistakes I was ashamed of, the demons in my closet, or the particulars of the things I hated about myself. I could be intimate without having to get too close.

6) Why did you decide to direct?

Because the industry is lacking in an area I’m rather fond of.

7) How was directing Alina Li in her Girl of the Month scene?

It was great! She was sweet and focused, beautiful(of course!) and she was ready to take my direction at the drop of a dime. However, when I tried to steer her into her own fantasies and lifestyle she was ready to head that way, as well.

8) What do you like most about working for Elegant Angel?

I have yet to really become a “regular” for Elegant, but most of the people working there I’ve known for years. I feel comfortable. I feel like some of them are as close to family as I can find in this industry.

9) What is one thing you would teach a woman who expand her sexual boundaries with her partner?

Someone who wants to expand her sexual boundaries should only look within. Don’t push yourself in directions you can’t imagine yourself going. When you close your eyes, can you SEE this particular act happening? What’s your physical response to those images? Take heed to those responses.

10) What are the best things about being a porn director?

I get a chance to create without any hindrance of perspective. I get to see the project bloom from just the right distance.

11) What do you think is the hottest scene from one of your Elegant Angel titles?

Another common question that’s near impossible to answer. I made it a point in my career to never take a scene off… But the Pretty Filthy series are chock-full of some of my best!

12) What do you think is the best scene that you have directed for Elegant so far?

I have only directed the one scene thus far.

13) Who are your role models in porn and how/why do they inspire you?

There are many people I look at as great people, however I really follow my own course when it comes to business. I don’t know if I would say I have a role model. I don’t even know if there’s that much planning involved! I kind of just, do.

14) What can we look for in your upcoming Elegant Angel releases? Will you perform in any?

You can look forward to truth. I will hide the rest of my details (insert evil laugh…).

15) What is the best mainstream movie you have seen recently?

I think the movie that’s stood out the most recently was The Impossible. Talk about intense! Such a tear jerker, but how amazing was that depiction?!

16) How about the best porno movie? Is there someone whose movies you like to watch who is working now?

To be honest I haven’t watched any porno movies lately, only trailers. Since I’ve been in the industry I can’t watch porn for pleasure. It’s all business now, unfortunately!

17) What adult directors inspire you most in your work?

Again, that would take research and time! Usually I just go with what’s in my gut. I follow my instincts and don’t think twice.

18) If you could cast any celebrities to do an epic sex scene for you, who would you cast? Give us your male and female choices and tell us what you would ask of them.

I would probably cast Angelina Jolie (circa Gia days…) and I’m not sure what guy… Maybe Johnny Depp..? I like an intelligent sexual person… And they both seem to fit the mold, however I’m not so sure they would fit together. I’ll have to get back to you on that!
