You wouldn't know it from our almost daily bombardment of bikini babe galleries, but times are actually pretty tough for the sub-porn genre of guy-friendly magazines. As you know, the US version of FHM is dunzo and our glossy-headed sibling site Gawker informs us that Dennis Publishing—the godfather of the lad mag business—is looking to sell off its roster of titles, which includes Maxim, Blender and Stuff. Not mentioned in those stories, however, is Bizarre, another Dennis outfit that is happily plugging along and just launched a redesign of their website. Even though the girls skew more toward the tattooed and pierced set than all-American (er, all-British) beach babes, they keep the same treasured format of scantily-clad hotties, man-tastic "news you can use", and generally "weird shit". The website also has the value-added Ultra Vixens feature where any regular gal can set up a profile page and post her own photos—though of course they still have room for the not-so-regular girls like Sophie Howard, Aria Giovanni, and the divine Vikki Blows too. Maybe flying under the radar has been a good thing for Bizarre. After all, the boss can't get rid of you if he doesn't remember that you work for him.
