The Real Masters & Johnson Are Not As Foxy As The Ones On TV

Hollywood loves to lie to us, and if you weren't aware of this already, just take a look at the real Masters and Johnson up there on the left compared to their modern day surrogates from the Showtime series Masters of Sex on the right. Not even close, but who cares? I doubt very much anyone would want to watch them get it on, but Lizzy Caplan and Michael Sheen, sign me up! Plus it's not like they're gonna cast Gavin McLeod and Nancy, the Bounty Lady, right?

The real life Masters & Johnson graced the cover of Time Magazine (link below) back in May, 1970, and some of their findings continue to serve as practical sex advice to this day. 

1. Penis size has nothing to do with sexual effectiveness.
2. Baldness is not a sign of virility.
3. There is no physiological difference, as Freud first proposed, between a clitoral orgasm and a vaginal orgasm.
4. Humans can remain sexually active well into their ninth decade. “All that is necessary,” says Masters, “is reasonably good health and an interested and interesting partner.”
5. Intercourse is not dangerous at any time during pregnancy—unless, says Masters, it is contraindicated by “ruptured membranes, pain and bleeding.”
6. Masturbation is not harmful.

Man, I sure am glad that masturbation isn't harmful. Considering how much I do it, I would have been devastated to find out otherwise. I do have one other question though which I have yet to get a serious answer to...
