Being a director of a major motion picture requires a ton of work before the cameras ever roll. For Jake Kasdan, the director of the upcoming movie Sex Tape, that meant hanging out on the free porn site YouPorn.
According to The Wrap (link below) the time he spent there was purely for research purposes however.
He didn't log on to their site to watch hours of scintillating videos, however. Kasdan met with the company's executives to get a better understanding of how the online pornography industry and cloud-based file sharing works.
“[YouPorn] had a lot to tell us about how technically it all works, in terms of how this all works on the Internet, and that was really interesting actually,” Kasdan told HuffPost Live.
“It turns out [people upload videos] so frequently and in such volume that those websites are just some of the biggest on Earth, and the technology to keep them running is worldwide. It was much more like a tech company than like a porn company. It doesn't seem to be a group of people at all — it's a bunch of machines.”
I'm sure that the hundreds of people going to see a movie where Cameron Diaz snorts coke with Rob Lowe and Jason Segel fights a doberman will be pleased with the verisimilitude Kasdan brings to a sensitive subject like this one.
