Twenty Questions with Casey Calvert

1) What kind of girl were you back in high school? Who did you hang out with/date?

I was super shy in high school. I hung out with a small group of kids. We were the smart, nerdy ones. There wasn’t a single thing that was “popular” about us, but we didn’t really care. And I didn’t date. I mean, I went on a couple of dates, but I didn’t have an actual boyfriend until I was a junior in college.

2) Were you a porn fan before you got into the industry? Who were your favorite porn stars/favorite porn movies?

I watched some porn before I got into the industry, mostly when I was way too young to be legally watching it. I’ve never been into mainstream porn, and so I’m sure no one has heard of the stuff that I really got into when I was young. In my 20s, I watched kink.com trailers. I didn’t need any more than that 30 seconds to get off.

3) What/who do you want to do on-camera that you haven’t done yet?

The only thing I haven’t done on-camera is double anal. I’m saving it for something really special. As for who I haven’t done yet, there are a million girls. I really want to work with Skin Diamond, Maddy O’Reilly, and Carter Cruise, just to name a few.

4) Who is your favorite male performer/female performer to work with and why?

My favorite male performer to work with is James Deen. I know he’s an easy answer, but it’s true. He is so good at his job, and a lot of the same things turn us on. Every scene I’ve done with him has been seamless… and really fucking hot. My favorite female performer is much harder to choose. I’ve worked with some amazing women. My top five, in no particular order, would be Dana DeArmond, Penny Pax, Claire Robbins, Ariel X, and Darling.

5) You seem to really love your fans and respond to your very large fan base a lot on Twitter. Tell me how having this fan base has changed your life.

I have the most amazing fans in the whole wide world! I still talk to some of my fans from my fetish modeling days. Back then, I didn’t think I was pretty. All my fans telling me that I was, with nothing to gain for themselves, is what changed my perception of myself. My fans really have changed my life. These days, I love talking to them about everything from the picture I tweeted of my dinner last night to my scene that just came out. And I love hearing about how I make them cum. I’m such an exhibitionist – it really gets me off knowing people are getting off to me.

6) What’s your favorite position to get fucked in and why does it get you off?

My favorite position has to be missionary. All the angles are just right for my body, both my vagina and asshole. And, in missionary, you can watch your partner fuck you. That’s the thing that really pushes me over the edge. 

7) What directors/studios have you most enjoyed working for so far?

Gosh… there are so many. I really love working for kink.com. A good day at Kink is a really great day. Each one of them has a very different style, but they all make such a great product, and really take care of us on set. Shooting for James Avalon is always a great day as well. I’ve worked for him a million times, and there has never once been a bad day. We joke around a lot, and he lets me act, which I really enjoy. Lastly, I just worked for Mason at Hard X. She doesn’t make porn, she captures intimate moments. I love working for her.

8) So where did your porn name come from? Is it that it is the Hawthorne Heights' late band member’s name a coincidence? 

Actually, it is 100% coincidence that my name is the same as the late Hawthorne Heights screamer. I was on my way to my first fetish shoot, and I needed a name. I used it before I googled it. When I got into porn, I asked my agent, Mark Spiegler, if I should change it. He said it wasn’t necessary. Anyways, Casey comes from the initials of my celebrity crush’s children. (No, I will not tell you who it is.) Calvert comes from a professor I had in college. He taught a first amendment law class, and among many other things, I learned that porn – watching it, making it – is protected under the first amendment. Up until that point, I thought that porn was illegal, like prostitution. Learning that it’s not changed my life.

9) What are the best things about being a porn star?

Besides the sex (cause how could I not love the sex!), I love the freedom of not having an office job. And I love the people I work with. Everyone is different, but all of us have chosen a job that makes us an outcast in certain circles. Porn people are fascinating.

10) You really bring a lot of strong sexual energy to your performances. How did you evolve into the performer that you are today?

Really, I just have one rule: no fake orgasms. I’ve gotten very good at being able to make myself cum no matter what the situation, and so I do.

11) What do you think is your hottest scene overall?

Another impossible question! It’s super suggestive -- the hottest thing to me could be a turn-off for someone else. So I guess I’ll name you some of my best in different categories. Yes, without a doubt. One of the reasons why I started fetish modeling was to explore my BDSM fantasies in a safe and controlled way.

13) Who are your role models in porn and how/why do they inspire you?

My porn role model is Nina Hartley. She’s had a successful career spanning 30+ years, and she’s also well-known as an educator. I want to be her when I grow up.

14) What do you most want to achieve as a porn star?

I would love to shoot a showcase and win an AVN, but really, what I most want to achieve is a platform and a voice to help educate people about porn and sex.

15) What is the best mainstream movie you have seen recently?

I just watched Shame the other night. It’s a movie about sex and sex addiction, but it’s so much more than that. I loved it.

16) How about the best porno movie? Is there someone whose movies you like to watch who is working now?

The best porno I’ve ever watched is Corruption from Eli Cross. It was made before I was even old enough to watch porn, but it has the distinction of being the only mainstream porno I’ve ever been able to masturbate to. But really, I love it so much because it’s a real movie that just happens to have hardcore sex it in. That is so rare these days. As for someone who is working now, I think Jacky St. James gets closest to the ‘real movie that just happens to have hardcore sex in it’ thing that is so important to me. She just keeps getting better and better. I shot a vignette with her a couple months ago, and she was great to work with as well. I hope to do it again.

17) Are you into toys to get yourself off alone or are you a low-tech woman?

I’m very low-tech. I own toys, but I only use them when I’m shooting or for very special occasions. Frankly, a Hitachi is too much for me when I’m by myself. I like to take my time, and the Hitachi is just too good.

18) If you could fuck any celebrity, who would it be? Give us your male and female choices.

Well, I’ve wanted to fuck David Duchovny ever since I watched The X-Files with my dad. Californication only made me want to fuck him more. Of any celebrity, he comes first. For women, I think Scarlett Johansson is super hot. She’s less hot now that she’s pregnant, but I would still do her.

19) What is coming up for you?
