The Chinese Are Putting Panties On Peaches

If Castor Troy taught us nothing else, and he didn't, it's that peaches are a sexually charged fruit.

It should come as no surprise, then, that the Chinese have decided to finally sex up the produce aisle with these be-pantied peaches. According to Kotaku (link below), one Chinese company is adorning their peaches with tiny panties in preparation for an upcoming festival.

These peaches are apparently being sold to capitalize on the the upcoming romantic Qixi Festival. They're a novelty present! And should be taken as such. But, they aren't cheap: A box of nine panty fruit is 498 yuan or US$80.

Now, about that festival. According to the always reliable Wikipedia, it's "an important festival, especially for young girls."

Young girls partake in worshiping the celestials (拜仙) during rituals. They go to the local temple to pray to Zhinü for wisdom. Paper items are usually burned as offerings. Girls may also recite traditional prayers for dexterity in needlework, which symbolize the traditional talents of a good spouse. Divination could take place to determine possible dexterity in needlework. They make wishes for marrying someone who would be a good and loving husband. During the festival, girls make a display of their domestic skills. Traditionally, there would be contests amongst young girls who attempted to be the best in threading needles under low-light conditions like the glow of ember or a half moon. Today, girls sometimes gather toiletries in honor of the seven maidens.

So yeah, sexy peaches fit right in with all of that.
