Kevin Smith has dabbled in porn-related comedy before with his 2008 film Zack & Miri Make a Porno, and he's returning to that fertile comedy ground for his latest project, Prons. According to The Hollywood Reporter (link below), Smith is co-writing and producing the series for Canadian pay TV channels The Movie Network & Movie Central.
The sitcom, written by Smith and Aaron Martin (Saving Hope), portrays a famous porn star who returns to his childhood home in Brantford, Ontario, to escape the business.
No word yet on when the series will shoot or air, but it sounds more like it's more comfortably in Smith's wheelhouse than his next film, Tusk, a horror flick starring Justin Long and Michael Parks. It's also not been revealed if Smith plans to appear in the series, but if he does, my money's on his costume involving a hockey jersey and jhorts.
