El Rey Kills Its Nudity-Filled Original Series ‘Matador’

Despite being created by "hitmakers" and notorious lunatics Bob Orci & Alex Kurtzman, the fledgling El Rey network is canceling its original series Matador, which was billed as a "Latino take on James Bond." According to Deadline (link below), the series did okay in the States, but didn't live up to expectations internationally, which led to its cancellation.

“Ultimately it was a business decision but to be clear, we were very proud of the series on every level-creatively it hit the mark and we are gratified that it celebrated diversity in front of the cameras and behind the scenes,” El Rey said in a statement. “We want to thank everyone involved, from the extraordinarily talented cast and crew to the amazing production team. We appreciate all that they have done and look forward to the opportunity to work with them in the future.”

Fret not fans of the network, and nudity on television, as their other original series From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series was renewed for a second season set to air next year.
