A new amendment to the 2003 Communications Act was passed this week in Britain, censoring a number of sexual acts from appearing in pornography produced in the UK. According to The Independent (link below), the Audiovisual Media Services Regulations 2014 officially brings VOD porn under the British Board of Film Censors' umbrella.
Seemingly arbitrarily deciding what is nice sex and what is not nice sex, the board's ruling on 'content that is not acceptable' (p.23) effectively bans the following acts from being depicted by British pornography producers:
- Spanking
- Caning
- Aggressive whipping
- Penetration by any object "associated with violence"
- Physical or verbal abuse (regardless of if consensual)
- Urolagnia (known as "water sports")
- Role-playing as non-adults
- Physical restraint
- Humiliation
- Female ejaculation
- Strangulation
- Facesitting
- Fisting
The final three listed fall under acts the BBFC views as potentially "life-endangering".
I find subjective rules like banning "Aggressive whipping" to be a slippery slope, because who is to determine what precisely is "aggressive," though a lot of these are aimed specifically at fetish porn. Rest easy Great Britain, as this does nothing to regulate porn produced outside of your country. I guess you'll just have to get used to the accents.
