Noted accessory enthusiast and guy most often cited as "that actor who I used to like," Johnny Depp, has decided to put his hat and scarf purchases on hold this week to pick up a painting of a nude Kate Middleton done by British street artist Pegasus. And just to prove that he does literally nothing in moderation, he's even commissioned a second painting from the artist.
According to Business Standard (link below), Depp—pictured above with his bangles, baubles, and beads guru Steven Tyler—spent a "handsome amount of money" on the portrait, though an exact figure was not released. I expect it was somewhere in the neighborhood of Jon Hamm.
The 51-year-old attended the opening of Pegasus's gallery on Caledonian Road in Islington and splurged on the artwork, as well as spending 25,000 Euros on a portrait of the Queen.
But the second picture will be of Duchess of Cambridge with her "crowned" baby bump in the nude, the Daily Star reported.
No word on whether the painting was based on the infamous paparazzi pics of a topless Kate, or if this was invented whole cloth out of Pegasus' imagination. Either way, it will look great on the wall right next to Depp's hat rack.
