Thanks to her role on the first season of Showtime's hit series The Affair, Ruth Wilson spent a lot of time nude on our television sets this Fall, and she's not happy about it. Well, technically she's not happy about the double standard that exists on television wherein women can be shown having an orgasm, but men are seldom shown breaking out their O-Face.

In an interview with Net-A-Porter Magazine (link below), Ruth bemoaned the fact that women are treated very differently than men on television, especially when it comes to sex, nudity, and orgasms.

“I have a big concern about how women are treated in the industry generally, and how they have to provide the titillation because penises can’t be seen on screen but breasts can. It’s assumed that women will get their breasts out, and have to get their breasts out, and I balk at that. It’s unnecessary and it’s unfair. So I kept insisting, ‘Why have I always got to do the orgasm face? There should be a male orgasm face. Why is it always the woman who’s orgasming? Let’s analyze the male orgasm. Why aren’t we thinking about that a bit more?’ It’s hard to make good sex scenes work – there are so many crap ones out there.”

She certainly has a point, and it's something for cigar-chomping fat cat executives to think about as they literally burn all of the money they've made exploiting actresses. Good on Ruth for speaking up. Now to see if anyone in the industry mans up and shows their O-Face...
