Montana Lawmaker Drafts Law To Ensure He’s Not Tempted By Women In Yoga Pants

One of my favorite things about politicians is when they draft an entire law to try and ban something that they're not comfortable with. Republican Representative David Moore of Montana has introduced legislation that would expand current indecent exposure laws to include articles of clothing such as yoga pants. All this because he happened to witness the Bare As You Dare naked bike ride last summer.

According to The Montana Standard (link below), Moore teamed up with retired professor Walt Hill to create a law that's just insane enough to get this kind of press before being laughed out of the house of representatives.

The proposal would expand indecent exposure law to include any nipple exposure, including men's, and any garment that "gives the appearance or simulates" a person's buttocks, genitals, pelvic area or female nipple.

The Republican from Missoula said tight-fitting beige clothing could be considered indecent exposure under his proposal.

"Yoga pants should be illegal in public anyway," Moore said after the hearing.

Moore and Hill... initiated the drafting of HB 365 after the Bare as you Dare bicycle event outraged some residents last summer. Fearing that denying organizers an event permit would breach free speech, city officials allowed participants, many of them completely nude, to ride through downtown Missoula on Aug. 17, 2014.

"I want Montana to be known as a decent state where people can live within the security of laws and protect their children and associates from degrading and indecent practices," Hill said Tuesday in support of the measure. "I believe this bill is written preserving that reputation."

Thankfully a legislative panel killed the bill this morning, because I'm sure they had better things to than worry about these two jerk-offs and their struggles with temptation. Seriously, just because you don't like something, doesn't mean you get to impose it on everyone else. Fucking politicians.
