Awesome alt production company Trouble Films is co-sponsoring the queer-positive rock opera "WildcardXFaust" in San Francisco with the Queer Cultural Center and the San Francisco Arts Commission. The performances are on March 13th and 14th at the Center for Sex and Culture. The doors open at 7 PM and the show starts at 7:30 PM.
On the show's website, the rock opera is described as "... an adaptation of F.W. Murnau's film of Goethe's "Faust". Inspired by striptease as a form of psychological revelation, the concept of the performer as a demon with a double life, and the process of artistic evolution, it is a Jekyll and Hyde-esque church of brimstone, nudity, vulnerability,"
Sounds like a memorable night out!
I checked in with sweet Courtney Trouble of Trouble Films to see what she had to say about sponsoring the show and she told Fleshbot, "You may recognize these babes from my photography and queer porn projects, which is of course how I found out about the rock opera! I'm proud to be putting my sponsorship budget towards something beautiful created by queer artists, especially these three who have given me so much inspiration."
