Five Reasons Why I Love Being A “Comic Book Geek” by Draven Star

Super hot alt performer Draven Star stars in Burning Angel's latest all-sex release "Comic Book Freaks and Cosplay Geeks" directed by alt superstar Joanna Angel.  She plays Death of the Endless from the Neil Gaiman-written "Sandman" series for DC Comics' Vertigo  Tommy Pistol is here as Lucifer Morningstar from the excellent DC Vertigo "Lucifer" series.  Great stuff and Star makes one hot Death!  Here's why she loves comics so much.  

Ok! So in no particular order, here are 5 reasons why I super love being a geek!

-It's not really a secret that I love to read, and while my imagination is quite the colorful place on its own...I love to see the characters in comics and graphic novels. The dark or light backgrounds to set tone, expressions of joy and anger and horror! Your eyes all over the page! It's just so fucking RAD.

-Comic conventions. I really dig seeing artists and meeting my favorite authors, comic or childhood favorites! I love how energized the air can be right before something awesome is about to be announced, or people finding that one item they've been searching for, maybe discovering something new...and the people watching is top notch!

-So, comic cons are fun but what's way funner than just going is COSPLAYING. I fucking love cosplay. I have SO much fun picking a character, creating the right outfit and just soaking in their actions, speech and general persona. Forget going to a Halloween store and getting a costume in a bag! Give me a sewing machine and thrift stores and indie brands and my closet....I can be anyone I want. :) (also I really just like having sex in fun costumes, let's be real here.)

-Fandoms are kinda like family. They'res people you will love forever, and people you wanna smack with a shovel but you can't and they aren't going anywhere either. Whenever a fellow Slytherin sees my dark mark tattoo there is an instant connection, even if we're strangers. It's how I met and why I super adore my fellow geek sister Ela Darling!!! You really really can't get any better than that.

-Community. Granted the geek scene is not ideal all of the time, I have found myself in many situations with incredible people. Beautiful, open minded, super geeks who can make a place with thousands of people feel like the corner booth at a neighborhood bar. I recently spoke on a geek panel at Catalyst Con (with Ela!) and had the most rewarding experiences and conversations with people I just met. It's special man.

So, pretty much...pick up a comic book or novel or something and see what's out there! Cause being a geek is wicked fun.
