The Gifs are Back on Sex.com!

Sex.com recently conducted an experiment in order to boost site loading times. They removed the automatic play function on GIFs in hopes that the site would load faster, and while that particular part of the experiment was a success, apparently people were none too happy about it. Despite reducing load times by more than 25%, site users pitched a fit over the whole endeavor.

The move seemed like a smart one, and for someone with a rather shitty home internet connection, I appreciated them making such strides. These folks, on the other hand, not so much...

Bakondia on the forums wrote, “Reinstate auto-play as default setting for GIF format, or at least give users the option in settings. I know some user’s want to keep bandwidth low and so do the server admins, but come on.At least give us a choice.”

Jonnyeros posted, “Seriously, after i come home from work, I just want to sit at my computer and have 100 asses shaking in front of me at the same time. Is that too much to ask!?”

Flagiti concurred with, “I’ve noticed that you need to click on gifs to make them play. Now, i understand that for some people this might cause problems due to either their slow internet connection or their computers. However, please let us choose whether or not we want gifs to autoplay. I hate that i have to click on a gif to make it play now, and I dislike it to the point where i’m considering leaving the site entirely. Please, please either go back to the way it was or let us choose.”

Sex.com is now trying out an autoplay button on their GIFs, which is sure to assuage the complaints of these three individuals. I would also like to add that all of the GIFs in my award winning column* GIF Of The Day play automatically. Just throwing that out there.
