We Need More Art Lessons Like This

When we're young we're all artists. As kids we scribble and color and it doesn’t matter what it looks like. As we get older and we start to realize that our blue and purple blob isn’t a car, most of us put the colored pencils down, though I have a feeling had we had more art lessons like this, we’d all still be drawing.  

The video Re-Creating Gustav Courbet's "Bacchante" in Pencil posted on Vimeo (link below) is more art lesson than anything, but that doesn’t mean it’s not pretty awesome to watch. While I could say you should pick up a pencil and some paper and give it shot, you can do whatever you want. If you’d rather just look at a beautiful curvy blonde completely nude, go for it. No one can fault you wanting to look at something so incredibly beautiful, but for those who are feeling a little brave, go for it. Try your hand at a re-creating a great piece of art. And remember as long as you give it your all, it will come out great. Even if all you do is a draw a stick figure with boobs, that’s perfectly okay because you captured the essence of the masterpiece.  

Maybe you’re perfectly fine with not doodling anymore, but that doesn’t mean you can’t appreciate great art, especially great art with great boobs.
