Porn Awards Buildup

In addition to one of the largest peacekeeping deployments in the U.N.'s history, a hallmark of Kofi Annan's tenure as Secretary General will doubtless be the free proliferation of adult awards shows.

The Temptation Awards, an adjunct of Canada's Temptation News, will debut at the Beverly Hills Hotel on July 29. Though its award categories are similar to those of the XBiz Awards (XBiz is an official media sponsor), its website looks almost exactly like that of AVN. See? Canadians bringing people together yet again!

The ceremony promises to be a classy affair, featuring a meal in the ballroom preceded by a garden party hosted by jessica drake (who, like Canadian k.d. lang, prefers her name be spelled in lower case letters. Coincidence?)

It will be one of at least eight adult awards shows this year, but maybe the Canadians, justly upset over U.S. maritime abuses, might be the first to snub "Pirates".
