Naked 8-Bit Adventures! Where's My Joystick?
If you are of a certain age, you probably remember the pure joy and amazement you felt when you first held a Nintendo controller in your hand and mashed those buttons as hard as you could to get Mario through all those sewers. Well, if you are ready to relive those wonderful 8-bit days—with an extra bit of adult flair—with The Uprising Creative's new mobile and browser game Love’s A Beach, based on the VH1 show Dating Naked.
The game is pretty simple, just like the 8-bit games of old, where the player selects two avatars for naked adventures. Two of the games designers digital director Benjamin Miles and account director Justin Hoot felt the throwback to the days of Nintendo best fit the brand of Dating Naked and would give players the best gaming experience possible.
"I think we managed to develop a hilarious interactive project that is also an impressive and thorough mobile and desktop web game," said Miles. "We worked hard to create something that encourages re-playability and skill-building, and it looks like those efforts are paying off."
The game also features a global scoreboard and players can easily share their scores and images from the game on social media.
"We felt strongly that an endless-runner style game with simple one-touch controls, wrapped in a custom pixel art style, would achieve the goals," Miles added. "For the core mechanics, we reached back to the Nintendo years to draw inspiration for scoring and on-screen interaction with the elements."
For those of you who are longing for a time when game play was simpler, then this is the game for you. No word yet on what would happen if you did up-up-down-down-left-right-left-right-B-A-start, or select-start for two players.
