A Michigan State Rep Tried To Cover His Affair By Saying He Banged A Dude

I don’t get it. Really, I don’t get this one. My brain cannot process this one so, I’m going to lay it for you and maybe you’ll be able to make sense of it. Michigan State Rep. Todd Courser planned to send out a fictional email stating that he had sex with a male prostitute at a nightclub in order to cover up his actually affair with Rep. Cindy Gamrat. What?  

Courser and Gamrat are both tea party Republicans (shock!) who highlighted their Christian faith (double shock!) to help land their seats in Michigan House of Representatives started having an affair and wanted to use taxpayer money (triple shock!) to keep having their affair. Courser directed one of his aides to send out an email from “an anonymous political” to all the Republican activists and operatives stating that Courser had been “caught behind a Lansing nightclub” having sex with a man. Apparently the hope was that once this was fake email hit the news circuit any new information about Courser, like he had an extra material affair with Gamrat who is also married with three kids, wouldn’t be that big of a deal. What?

I guess the thinking was that if there was one lie about Courser proven wrong that all lies about Courser would be wrong, even if the one about the affair with his fellow Representative is true? Plus, how is banging a dude better than sleeping with a married woman in Tea Party Christian land? Keep it up Michigan; you guys might soon be battling with Florida over stupidest state. Still this makes no sense to me whatsoever.
