For Topless Models, We Will Find a Way to Survive

No one wants to live in some kind of post-apocalyptic world— not even that one friend we all have that watches too many movies and TV shows and thinks that makes him some kind of survival expert. Most of us can barely take it when we don’t have cellphone reception. But I have to say: If the post-apocalyptic world involves Kasia Struss and Maaike Klaasen running around with their boobs out, maybe it’s not such a bad thing.  

In an online photo exhibition for the website Memorieslab entitled “BlackOut” by fashion and erotic photographer Ellen von Unwerth, we get a peek at the sexier side of the end of the world.      

Carefully chosen by the photographer, the two models, Kasia Struss and Maaike Klaasen, endure a blackout in the middle of the Californian desert. A dramatic and post-apocalyptic adventure with nothing around but an abandoned gas station and blinding heat.  

As a pioneer of a pictorial language that sublimates feminity, Ellen von Unwerth pushes her boundaries once again by adding a layer of indisputable trauma to her heroines in the theme of memories, and a result of their loss.

Look, I hate camping, so I don’t know what I would in a world without working toilets, but knowing that I could roam the empty abyss of a broken world and have the chance of running into two incredibly beautiful women with little to no clothes on makes me think we would all find a way to survive.
