Feminist Porn Awards on Hiatus

No Feminist Porn Awards This Year

Canadian retailer Good For Her, the host of the yearly Feminist Porn Awards, has announced that there will be no 2016 awards show this year. The awards show had been held yearly for 10 years prior to this announcement.

Good For her co-founders Carlyle Jansen and Lorraine Hewitt said in a blog post, "We at Good For Her have had 10 inspiring and incredible years. We’ve watched our idea grow from a small spark into a bright and brilliant flame. It is with deep feelings of pride and satisfaction in all that we have accomplished that we announce that we will be taking a short break from the Feminist Porn Awards for 2016. We will take this time to re-vision and strategize about how we wish to transform and rebirth the event that is so dear to us. We will be back again soon. We love too many of you too well to not return."

They also indicated that mainstream porn and porn awards show such as the ones from AVN and XBIZ are more accepting of feminism as being positive, while there is still a "long way to go."

I personally believe ALL porn is for ALL women, but it's a drag to see this show take a break.
