A Guide to AVN’s Best Ethnic Movie Nominees

AVN lumps porn movies about all women of all ethnic backgrounds—minus the white chicks—into one category. There is one fuckload of great porn in this category this year, and I watched it all. Yeah, that's part of my gig, and wow, it was a great year in this particular category. I am going to share my favorite scenes and a few thoughts on these releases. I heartily encourage you to check these out.

"Angelic Black Asses 3" from Devil's Film

I mean, the cover image of hot-as-fuck Daisy Ducati should be enough to make you want to check out this release, which is technically interracial since all of the chicks here get their asses fucked by white or Latino men. If you care about such things, as the cover implies a different situation, be aware of that. Monique Symone is also here and she always gives a super scene.  

"Asian Fucking Nation 6" from Jonni Darkko/Evil Angel

If you all reading this have not yet figured out how smitten I am with Kalina Ryu, well, you have not been paying attention. Here's my review of the title. Ryu is out-fucking-standing in this, just like she is in everything else she does. I also loved the group scene with London Keyes and Mena Mason. So hot.  

"Black Ass Anal Drilling 4" from West Coast Productions

Well, this one has an all-black cast, unlike the Devil's one that vaguely implies it does on the box but doesn't. It's directed by TB, who has been directing black porn stars for freaking ever. And although he shares his name with an abbreviation for a disease, he makes good porn. Some of his days are better than others, but that's pretty true for us all. I heart Skyler Nicole, and she and cover girl Serena Ali both give great scenes in this.

"Black Assets" from King Midas/Exquisite

King Midas—AKA Diana DeVoe—has been directing forever, and she makes good movies starring black female performers and has for quite a while. Jayden Starr's ass deserves its own zip code, and Chanel Heart is just one the best performers out there, period.  

"Black Panthers 3" from Lexington Steele/Evil Angel

I really loved this one, but I pretty much love every entry that AVN Hall of Famer Lexington Steele releases in this series. I enjoyed the Harley Dean and the Aryana Adin scenes in this, but damn, this cast is great; Heart, Ali and Teanna Trump are in this too. Not a bad scene in this at all.

"Brown Bunnies 12" from Bang Productions

Bang Bros is one of those companies where you either love them and looooove them or you don't. Most of the time, I think Bang's stuff is pretty solid, but it isn't always for me. This was a fun one with a great Tori Taylor scene, and Skin Diamond is always a great time. I love Cherry Hilson too and I wish she was in more stuff.

"Eastern Promises" from Babes

Babes makes very pretty, well-shot porn, and this is a very fun release with a solid female cast. Marica Hase is great in everything I have seen her in and so is Jayden Lee.

"Latin Asses" from Hard X

I fucking love this movie from the brief period of time in 2015 when William H. was with Hard X before he went to Jules Jordan Video. Here's my review of it. Luna Star is one of the top Latina stars in porn, in my opinion, and this was part of Jynx Maze's comeback after she took a break from porn for a bit. If you haven't seen this one yet, treat yourself now that it is nominated.

"Latina Sex Tapes 19" from Mofos

Mofos has that gonzo/POV feel that I wish that I was more into. They put Ryu in this as a Latina (she's Korean-American), but it also has Isabella de Santos who left porn this year, so it's a good place to see her if you really love this company.

"Pho-King" from Third Degree Films

I heart the soup and I heart the directing of AVN's reigning Male Performer of the Year Mick Blue. Blue always casts things exquisitely, and I enjoyed this. There's more Ryu in this, and she's still not Latina. Cindy Starfall is good in this and totally earned the cover in her scene with Blue.  

"Porn's Top Black Models 4" from Elegant Angel 

This has a ridiculously strong cast and it's directed by Dreadneck (AKA Derek Dozer). I liked Anya Ivy, and Cassidy Banks is always outstanding to watch.. I personally think that Dozer has directed better stuff, but this is a strong series with a ton of fans.  

"Sexy Senoritas 12" from Immoral

Immoral is all live cam shows, and you either like that kind of format or you really don't. I think Bliss Dulce is a totally great performer who should be cast a lot more. She and Sheena Ryder definitely make this worth your time.

"A Touch of Ebony" from Combat Zone

Diamond's scene in this is fucking stellar and it's got a super cast overall. This is one where you look at the pretty cover and it's easy to think that it might not be as filthy as you want it to be. Go ahead and give it a look. I am glad I did.

"Up My Asian Ass 2" from Jules Jordan Video

This is an Asian title that I think is as great as the Darkko one on this list—here's my review of it. AVN Hall of Famer Kaylani Lei's anal scene in this is a knockout.  

And lastly...

"Women of the Middle East" from Kelly Madison Productions

I really enjoyed this release, and Ryan Madison did a great job from stem to stern of this one. Arabelle Raphael has her menstrual period in her scene in this, and AVN nominated that scene for "Most Outrageous Scene". I personally don't think that a woman's flow is that "outrageous". It's just a healthy part of a woman's body. Some people just don't have real relationships with women, I guess. Anyway, the scenes in this release? Totally fucking hot.
