Stranger Dongs and Monster Porn: Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween, dear Fleshlings! Today I couldn't help but share a little Halloween/Stranger Things mash-up from Bad Dragon that made me giggle: The Demogorgon Dildo. In honor of such a special season, they made two videos introducing the thing, and it had me thinking - as usual. 

As wacky as the idea of having sex with a Demogorgon may be, Bad Dragon is a brand that has built its empire on fantasy and monster-modeled sex toys, and for good reason - a lot of people love the idea of boning something like a dragon or the Demogorgon. Just google "monster literotica" and see what treasure troves you find. 

But I digress - the point here isn't that a lot of people fantasize about monster porn but instead why they do; and I am particularly fond of this analysis in Psychology Today.  

"To illustrate how monster porn might mimic “ancestral cues”, albeit in novel ways, consider the storylines of some recent titles. A recurring theme seems to be that an attractive heroine (or heroines) is taken captive by a powerful creature who proceeds to ravish her erotically, giving her immense sexual pleasure in the process." 

There's a lot of interesting literature about ancestral mating and why women seem to prefer almost "monstrous" men during fertile times of the month. The theory is rooting in passing on dominant genes, and, well, it makes a lot of sense. The author goes on to elaborate: 

"One proposed evolutionary explanation of forced sex fantasies compares them to a kind of mating ritual where the fantasy assailant demonstrates his power, dominance, and uncontrollable passion for the woman. If the woman was able to resist his advances, then his masculine power would be diminished. From the woman’s perspective, such a ritual provides evidence of the man’s reproductive fitness, e.g. his social dominance and effectiveness as a protector and provider."

Honestly, it's not so different from the mainstream feminine interest in 50 Shades of Grey. While domination and hyper-masculine traits are certainly not everyone's cup of me, many of us splooge in our panties when we come across this kind of content. In celebration of the reason for the season, I went out in search of some monster porn for you fine folks.
