Ten Well-Deserved XBIZ Award Victories

I am an AVN and an XRCO voter, and that is a responsibility that takes up a lot of my time at year's end. I already watch a whole lot of porn on a daily basis—it averages out to two whole movies a day at this point in my porn-viewing life—so it always interests me to see who ends up winning the XBIZ Awards. Usually, they match up pretty closely, but there are the occasional differences that leave me scratching my head and wondering what the fuck is in the water at their magazine's HQ. Here are the victories at this year's XBIZ Awards that I totally am behind. It's some of the best porn/adult product of the year from some of the best performers and production companies out there. These are in no particular order and I definitely recommend them for your porn/toy consumption:

Feature Movie of the Year: "Wanted" from Wicked Pictures/Adam & Eve

I wrote a review about this Stormy Daniels-directed feature back in December. It is a total labor of love by Daniels, and it is most definitely her best feature to date. Steven St. Croix's performance as an evil sheriff in this is a career best for the man, and Daniels is a strong lead player as a woman out to save hooker Anikka Albrite from the gallows.

Sex Toy of the Year — Powered: Vibratex Rechargeable Magic Wand

They give awards to toys and oh, I liked this one. Here is my review of this wand, and it is still one damn fine, reliable electric vibe that deserves every bit of the space that it takes on or around your nightstand. There is no cord to get in the way of the action and it is just aces. Buy one for your current lust object or buy one for yourself.

Adult Site of the Year — BDSM: Kink

Gonzo Release of the Year: "Anikka’s Anal Sluts" from BAM Visions/Evil Angel

This was BAM Visions's debut outing, and BAM Visions came out strong as a fledgling production company in 2015. The trip of Albrite, her husband Mick Blue, and veteran shooter Maestro make great porn and this is a damn strong anal movie. This is up for the AVN Award for Best Anal Movie, where it sits with a very strong group of contenders. It will be interesting to see if it takes another victory.

Male Sex Toy/Line of the Year: CyberSkin Twerking Butt from Topco 

My dear friend Kim Airs, who is a genius in all matters sex toys, visited me last year and at one point during her visit, I had this very toy on my kitchen table. Vignette Release of the Year: "A Hotwife Blindfolded 2" from New Sensations

AVN has the first entry in this series up for Best Polyamory Movie, and I enjoyed the first entry in the series, but I am totally down with the second one winning an award for it being great. It is way hot with director Jack ST. James coming up with great scenarios to keep the action solid. I love the reaction that these experienced porn stars have to having one of their senses removed. This gives them less of an ability to "perform" and leads to spontaneous reactions to the sexual encounters. Good stuff.

Director of the Year — Feature Release: Stormy Daniels, "Wanted" from Wicked Pictures/Adam & Eve

You can read what I said about the first entry on this list, but Daniels has been a great director and writer for years and she has never really gotten her due from the critics and the awards voters. She has more than earned this honor and it should be interesting to see if AVN's voting body feels the same way.

 All-Girl Release of the Year: "The Business of Women" from Girlsway

This well-loved Girlsway title is a complete fan favorite for good reason. AVN has this Girlsway release up against another Girlsway release—The Turning—and it should be interesting to see if one of these two Girslway releases or another title takes the All-Girl Best Movie takes the AVN Award. Girlsway does seem like to company to beat this year as they are making very high-quality girl/girl porn.
