ABC Says This Trailer for “Carol” Is Too Racy

So . . . What Part Has Too Much Skin? Cate Blanchett's Back? Rooney Mara's Shoulder?

The American Broadcasting Company, better known as ABC, is best known for their hit show . . . um . . . I think they have a hit show. The Mentalist? What channel is that show on? They must have a show that people watch, right? Anyway, ABC refuses to air the trail for the movie Carol because they feel there’s too much skin.  

You might be asking yourself at this very moment, and what do you mean by too much skin? That’s a great question, and the answer is that Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara are both seen in bed together and we see some naked back. Not naked backside, just naked back—mostly Cate Blanchett’s back. Oh, there’s also a little Rooney Mara nude shoulder. That’s it, people. Disney, which is the parent company of ABC, is refusing to air the television spot until The Weinstein Company “provides more coverage” on the film's stars. All I can do is shake my head at this one, people, I just don’t get it. I don’t get what the hell the big deal is. Honestly, I’ve watched this trailer a couple of times and can’t figure what is so “offensive” and what needs “more coverage”. There is nothing in the trailer that hasn’t been on a network primetime show before.  

I highly doubt that The Weinstein Company will do another cut of the trailer, but you never know. Oh, to whoever said this spot was too racy, here’s some Rooney Mara from Girl With The Dragon Tattoo to compare to the Carol trailer. You tell me if one is racier than the other.
