In my most recent corral of Craigslist gems (a la Kentucky and West Virginia), there was one interesting posting that really stuck out to me - and no, it wasn't the ice skates. Though I'd read minimally about breeding fetishes and pregnancy risk fetishes before, I hadn't taken a deep dive and found it particularly compelling.
Maybe it's because it makes a lot of sense that evolution would want you to eroticize procreation, and maybe it's because there really is something particularly primal about the power exchange of impregnation - I'm not really sure, but I thought it deserved its own post.
Porn usually does a great job illustrating the appeal of a kink all on its own, but there are times when accompanying erotica is infinitely more powerful - and one of the best places to find the two paired is Tumblr, where many breeding fetishists, horny folks, and skilled writers express themselves. (It is, in fact, why we have a Tumblr of our own.)
There is a nuanced difference between a breeding fetish and a pregnancy risk fetish. Those with a breeding fetish get off on the idea of impregnating someone or becoming pregnant - they actively want it to happen. There is sometimes (but not always) and dominant/submissive element to breeding; after all, how can you be more vulnerable or submissive by offering your body and your life to further someone's genes? To impregnate someone is to claim her, in a way.
Those with a pregnancy risk fetish, on the other hand, get off on the risk or the danger of a possible pregnancy but don't actively want to breed. In a sense, it's the sex version of playing chicken. How far can you go without creating another human?
Both breeding and pregnancy risk fetishes share similar turn-ons, many of which are verbal. Dirty talk includes passionate "I want you to fuck me raw," or, "I'm ovulating right now - we shouldn't be doing this," or "I'm gonna come deep inside you and knock you up," or even, "You don't even have to take care of the baby if you get me pregnant, I'll raise your child" talk, even if it's just roleplay.
Many people will get just as riled up by imagining they're getting pregnant or creating a baby in their partner's belly, opting to still use the pill or an IUD, and some people need the real thing. There are many couple who share this kink and have quite a few kids, because really conceiving and carrying out a pregnancy is an erotic experience for them in and of itself.
There are even real breeding parties, where one or more women will join a large group of men with the intention of getting pregnant. In situations like this, paternity isn't particularly important; the men love the idea of spreading their seed with minimal responsibility, and the women love triggering the primal instincts of procreation.
What human drive could be more instinctive than that?
