And I'm Not Talking About a Dungeon Theme—I'm Talking About Iraq, a Forest, and More
Have you ever stayed at one of those themed motels? You know, the kind with the outer space room or the underwater room? Personally, I haven’t, but I’ll admit my curiosity makes me want to find one. While staying at one of these places is probably a great story to tell, what if you visited a themed sex hotel instead? Yes, there are such places.
Well, I don’t actually know if there is more than one—the Hotel Kiss Me in Cali, Colombia—but does there really need to be more than one? Photographer Kurt Hollande took a trip down to Colombia to snap a couple of pictures of the rather interesting rooms of the Hotel Kiss Me. Each of the 180 rooms were painted by local artists who pretty much got to paint whatever they wanted and the themes range wildly from fantasy to downright odd. Over the two weeks at the Hotel Kiss Me, Kurt Hollande brought some friends down to pose in some of the rooms in order to create some rather interesting photos. He compiled a collection of these photos for a show he’s calling “The Architecture of Sex,” which is currently on display at can Proyectos Impala in Ciudad Juárez from now until May 25th.
It should also be noted that prostitution is perfectly legal in Colombia.
You know, I have seen some strange things in my life and this isn’t the strangest. While I will probably never visit the Hotel Kiss Me, if I did, I think I would totally have to pick the USA room. What room would you pick?
