Celebgate Hacker Closer to Paying for His Actions
Hacker/piece of human waste Edward Majerczyk who was partially responsible for "Celebgate," pleaded guilty to one count of "unauthorized access to a protected computer to obtain information" in federal court in Chicago yesterday.
According to Yahoo News, prosecutors are agreeing to Majerczyk receiving a sentence of nine months in prison instead of the maximum of up to five years that the jerk was facing. The federal judge set a date of January 10th for when he will dole out the sentence, and he is not bound to go with the prosecutor's recommendation, for what that is worth.
According to the plea agreement filed with the court, Majerczyk admitted to tricking people into thinking that they had received a security alert from their Internet service providers. From there, his victims went to a fake website where they were prompted to give over their user names and passwords his victims into thinking that they had received a security alert from a legitimate Internet service provider, but a link in the email he sent took them to a fake website, where they were instructed to enter their logins and passwords. He used those to hack into over three hundred people's Gmail and Apple accounts including those belonging to Brie Larson (shown above), Jennifer Lawrence, and Kate Upton.
The other person that this jerk worked with on making "Celebgate" happen is still at large and has law enforcement looking for him/her. Majerczyk stole the images and this other person put them up on the Internet for the world to see, which was and is a completely shitty thing to do to another human being.
