Nikkatsu’s “Roman Porno” Softcore Has Gotten a Reboot

Get Ready for the Return of "Roman Porno"!

Variety is reporting that Japanese film production company Nikkatsu was at the Tokyo Film Festival last week and that they have brought back their popular 1970s and 1980s "Roman Porno" softcore porn series. The original films were a favorite for fans of hot Japanese chicks all over the world, and the films also helped save the film studio during a time when Japanese people were turning away from movie theaters to in favor of staying home and watching TV. The sexy movies had small budgets and featured Japanese directors who went on to become a big deal with their other work including director Yojiro Takita who won an Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film in 2008 for "Departures".

There are five new "Roman Porno" movies in the reboot and they are already getting a great reception out there with one of those movies titled "Wet Woman In The Wind" garnering invitations to be shown at seven other film festivals. 

With that title, I want to see that movie right now!

The company is releasing one of each of the new movies a month. The first new Roman Porno, "Aroused by Gymnopedies", will be in Japanese theaters this month. There is no word yet on when these will be available here in the U.S. but you know that Mr.Skin will be all on top of that once there is an international release date announced.
