Derrick Pierce Is One of the Best of the Best

Veteran male performer Derrick Pierce is up for AVN's Male Performer of the Year award and he really could not be more thrilled about it. He has been performing on camera since 2004 and is widely considered to be one of the more professional, reliable male porn stars out there. His website BangingPornstars.com is nominated for Best Porn Star Website and his truly great performance as villain Lex Luthor opposite Supergirl/then-Axel Braun Productions contract performer Carter Cruise in Wicked Comix's "Supergirl XXX: An Axel Braun Parody" has him up for Best Supporting Actor.

In addition to being a top male porn star, he is a personal trainer and martial arts instructor and trains a bunch of porn stars, helping them stay fit for our viewing pleasure. He has also coached professional UFC and MMA fighters, which really is pretty awesome. You can see his fight choreography in Burning Angel's "Ronda Arouseme" plus pretty much any other porn movie from the last year with fight scenes in it. He was handpicked by WWE wrestling diva Sunny Lynn Sytch to appear with her in her Vivid Celeb hardcore DVD "Sunny Side Up" and is regularly requested by a lot of female performers as an onscreen partner. The man is a complete pro as a porn star and he would be a fine and just winner in any of the categories that his work is up for awards in. Seeing him get this notice has been a joy. The man makes a lot of people happy.

Congrats on your nomination for AVN Male Performer of the Year! How does it feel being nominated for that honor?

"Honestly, I'm really happy about it! I feel that it's been a long time coming and I am very appreciative that AVN felt that it was time to include me within those ranks."

Who else nominated in this category inspires you as a performer?

"There are many mainstays and staples of male performers that I have a major amount of respect for. A few of them are Manuel Ferrara, Tommy Pistol, and Ryan Driller."

You were incredible as Lex Luthor in Wicked Comix's "Supergirl XXX: An Axel Braun Parody". Was there a particular actor who has played the role before who inspired your performance, did it come from the comic books or was it a hybrid?

"It always the comics for me. I'm a bit of a comic geek these days."

Congrats on the nominations for your BangingPornstars site. What do you feel makes your site stand apart from others out there?

"I like to think that it's me...but the truth is I have an amazing team at Puba who does all the real work. I just shoot and turn the footage in - they make the rest happen!"

What does getting these nominations mean to you? Does it change the way you feel about your work/career?

"For me, it's a big ego stroke - LOL. I wish I could tell you that it will change my career in adult, but it won't. It's just really nice to be recognized for all the diverse work that I have done, not just this year but EVERY year."

What can you share about the self-help book that you are working on?

"The basis of the book is to help men bridge the communication gap between them and women. Everything from personal style tips, to home decor tips, to approaching women to developing REAL rapport will be in there."

How has your personal training work been going? Your work with Alyssa Lynn has been incredible - her body is looking just amazing since she began working with you.

"I think that speaks volumes as to how hard she works the program. Alyssa Lynn and all of my clients do the hard work; I just provide the guidance!"

What advice would you give another male performer about being successful as a porn star?

"Be honest about what you are OK with and what you aren't. No one will remember what you said no to, but they WILL remember if you fail."
