Jemima Kirke Almost Left “Girls” During Season Two

The HBO series "Girls" begins its very final season next month and as part of the winding down and the goodbyes to this very popular show, the cast did a huge group interview for Glamour magazine. Apparently, series co-creator Lena Dunham is super-close friends in real life with series star Jemima Kirke and this closeness led to some interesting professional challenges on set. 

Kirke shares that she was having some personal issues that made her call Dunham three days before production was set to begin on season two to say that she wanted to quit the show. In addition to trying to quit the show, Kirke shared that she got into serious verbal arguments with Dunham during season two including one argument that got so heated that Kirke kicked Dunham out of her dressing room threatening to punch Dunham if she didn't leave her presence immediately.

Wow. Intense...

Kirke said of her season two sadness, "My sense of who I was and what I wanted was really thin. I really wasn’t sure what the fuck I was doing."

Well, as we all know, Kirke stayed. The goodbyes on the show should be interesting.
