Porn star/sex worker activist Siouxsie Q. is back in front of porn's cameras after a hiatus. I cannot adequately express how happy I am to know that she is back to performing and making filthy scenes for us all to enjoy. Q rules! Congrats on being back in action after taking that year off to do other stuff. How does it feel to be an active performer again?

"Oh my goodness, it feels amazing. I love making porn so much, and having the opportunity to come back into the game under the inspired direction of Maitresse Madeline and the Hardcore Gangbang crew was just perfect. I made the transition from the Bay Area to L.A. just about a year ago, and it felt so cool to be in this big porn valley mansion with so many familiar faces from the Kink.com Armory. It felt like both a homecoming and the beginning of a new chapter."

A lot of your "off" time was spent with your work with the Free Speech Coalition (FSC) fighting California's Prop 60. What did you learn most about yourself and the world you live in from working to defeat this anti-porn effort?

"More than anything, our industry's triumphant victory over Proposition 60 solidified my faith in the power of our community. Adult entertainment is an incredibly powerful force, and when we unite and fight, we can absolutely win no matter what our opponents throw our way. Those who work in the sex industry are, and always have been, my family and I vow to continue fighting for our rights and freedoms 'til death do us part."

How would you describe your work that you do for FSC? Why is it important that fans support the Free Speech Coalition?

"Since May 1st of last year I have served as the Director of Policy and Industry Relations to the Free Speech Coalition, which is the national trade association of the adult entertainment and pleasure products industry. For over 25 years, FSC has been fighting and winning seemingly impossible battles for our rights and freedoms as adult industry professionals.
In many ways, it's my dream job. I get to work directly with policy makers and legal experts to change the course of history for sex workers. The #NoProp60 campaign was just the beginning. I foresee many more huge victories for our community in the future.

I encourage every member of the adult entertainment and pleasure products industry to join the trade association and support our work. Even just $5 a month can make a huge difference. There's no insurance policy for a puritanical, anti-sex society - but an FSC membership is pretty close."

We both have peep show work in common and you worked at the Lusty Lady in San Francisco, one of their two unionized peep show establishments that are sadly now closed. What do you remember most about working there? What did you love about it?

"Nearly everything I learned about sex work, I learned at the Lusty Lady Theater - from double penetration to labor organizing and back again. I loved the community more than anything. It was there that I learned how sacred the bonds are between other sex workers. The friends I made in my first year of dancing at the Lusty Lady continue to be the people who show up the hardest in my life when shit gets real. Inside the Lusty Lady is where I learned our house words: 'Fuck you, pay me,' and 'Hos before literally everybody.' Those are values that continue to sustain me to this day."

You have been busy with your podcast in your "down" time. What do you love most about "WhoreCast"? Julia Ann was an amazing guest when you had her on!

"I love that I get to talk directly to thousands of sex workers and allies every single week. I try to leave every podcast on as loving and high a note as I can, because I know there are sex workers that listen as a way to access community. Our industry can be so isolating because the stigma associated with it can have such intense consequences. I have always found that time spent with sex worker peers can be a lifeline when I'm on the edge of burn out. If The WhoreCast can give people something close to that magic feeling of being in community with other sex workers, then I'm doing my job."

So you did your "comeback" scene for Kink over at their Hardcore Gangbang website and it is a gangbang with a bridal/wedding theme to it. I was told that some real life stuff made you embrace this theme. What happened?

"Let's just say, I've worn that dress when it was still white, but now I'm happily unmarried. I never really wanted to be a wife. As a little girl, I never dreamed of the fairy tale wedding; I spent my time idolizing the whores of musical theater and brazen femme icons like Gypsy Rose Lee and Mae West - women who used their sexuality to leverage their power, even in a time when women's choices were incredibly limited. I always wanted to be a whore. I think the best women in this world are - this shoot was about embracing that."

So what goals do you have for yourself as a performer?

"I want to continue performing as much as my schedule allows. I got the opportunity to do more acting in my first big feature with Adam and Eve last year ["The Luck of the Draw"] and I hope to do more projects like that. I have a degree in theater and I've been acting since I could walk, so I'd love to take on more roles that allow me to flex my acting muscles. I'd love to do more parodies in the future, as I love cosplay and roleplay. I also refuse to retire from performing until I've been cast as Princess Leia at least once. I don't care if I have to wait until my 50s and do sexy General Organa, it has to happen - it's important.

I'd also like to start telling more of my own stories on film, as I got the opportunity to do with The Red Bride, so hopefully more writing and even directing are on the horizon."

Who makes porn that inspires you these days? Who would you most love to work for as talent?

"The first porn I ever saw was made by John Stagliano. 'Fashionistas' changed my life, and I truly hope I get the opportunity to work with John and Evil Angel in the very near future.

I definitely want to make more features, parodies, and narratives. I had Axel Braun on my podcast a few years ago, and I continue to just adore his work. I also love what artists like Jet Setting Jasmine and King Noir are doing right now, and the girl/girl content coming out from Deviant Hardcore is stunning. I also love working with Fivestar, especially the VR content she's made - so I hope to do more of that. I don't have a lot of firsts left, but I've promised my anal fisting virginity to Ariel X and Everything Butt, so fingers crossed that happens one day."

What is coming up for you in the near future?

"I recently did an invite-only staged reading of my mermaid sex worker musical, Fish Girl, in Hollywood, and I'm hoping that will result in some next steps towards bringing a full-scale production to Los Angeles. (We've previously brought it to Portland, San Francisco, and New York thus far.)

As far as porn goes, I have another scene coming out very soon for a new site called CumKitchen.com It's a pervy cooking show that features real food and real sex. I shot a very messy and super delicious scene with my homie Micheal Vegas where I cooked him a gluten-freesugar-freee 'Perfect Purple Pussy Sweet Potato Pie.' It was amazing. He fisted me with his ginormous man hands and the pie was super yummy!

In terms of advocacy and FSC, I need people to understand that beating Prop 60 was not the final battle - we defeated Smaug the dragon, but we still have to throw the ring into the fires of Mt. Doom.

There are dozens of pieces of anti-sex legislation sweeping the nation and in order to combat them, we're going to have to stay focused and united. But we've proven we can do this.
